#gowest with a tried and true Westbound horse
Westbound Horses
Our horses are not just our job, they are our passion and our lifestyle. We take pride in our horses and work hard to ensure they receive the best of the best. Many of our Westbound horses have been with us for an extended amount of time. Our horses get real life experience out on the ranch, in the roping pen and at a range of events. We believe in a versatile horse and like a horse that can do multiple jobs. You will find that many of our horses excel in multiple areas. Many of our cutters are also great ranch horses and many of our ranch horses are also great in the roping pen.
DD Pepto Caster “Dee”
2024 AQHA Filly
Dee is halter broke and she is exceptionally well mannered and easy to handle. She is gentle by nature and learns so quickly. She ties quietly and trailers well, even backs off like one should. She will be a good one with the kind of mind you’ll want to ride. She is bred to be versatile and will excel anywhere from the roping pen to the show pen. She is sound and blemish free. I have never had a baby as pleasant to handle and teach as this filly. Her mind is impressive and her color, build and pedigree are just a plus! Please call or text Sarah at 619-655-2272 with any questions. We can help arrange hauling anywhere. There are two sets of photos below, the first set was taken end of summer and the second set was taken middle of winter.

SC Cats Hibrow Hank “Dudley”
2022 AQHA Red Dun Gelding 14.1 hands tall
Dudley is a young gelding that is packed full of potential. From his pedigree to his build to his mind he is the kind you want to ride. Standing at 14.1 he has a compact build with good bone, good shape and a strong hip.
Since being started Dudley has been in the best possible situation you can put a young horse in. He is being used on the ranch and in the stockyards learning about life and seeing the world from a ranch horse’s point of view.
He has experience in all aspects of ranch work. We have roped and doctored yearlings on him. He will hold a rope tight. We have caught and loaded cattle on him. He pulls really well and tracks great. He has got plenty of run and plenty of rate when you’re roping on him. We’ve sorted a bunch on him as well as loaded trucks and gathered on him. We’ve used him to work the stockyards during the cow sales and he’s has lots of exposure to loudspeakers, tight spaces, working gates etc.
He has had the benefit of seeing and being exposed to a lot of the world so far and has taken it all in stride. He is making a really solid citizen! Even on the coldest mornings he has never offered to buck or be tight. He is gentle and good minded.
His handle is what you would expect of a good cow bred 3 yr old that has been in good hands on the ranch. He is turning around, stopping, works off your feet well and stays in your hand. You can one hand him and do a job or you can two hand him and train on him. He stays willing.
There is a range of areas we feel Dudley would excel in. He is making a great ranch horse and could continue to be used there or he could excel in the roping pen as a heel or breakaway horse. He is gentle enough to make you a dependable trail partner and has enough ability to be a ranch versatility prospect also. The possibilities are endless.
Dudley is an easy keeper. He is pasture kept, fed alfalfa and is currently barefoot. He is easy to catch and pastures well with others, but is at the bottom of the pecking order. He has no health or soundness issues or maintenance needs.
Please feel free to reach out to 619-655-2272 with any questions. We can help arrange hauling anywhere if needed.
