#gowest with a tried and true Westbound horse
Westbound Horses
Our horses are not just our job, they are our passion and our lifestyle. We take pride in our horses and work hard to ensure they receive the best of the best. Many of our Westbound horses have been with us for an extended amount of time. Our horses get real life experience out on the ranch, in the roping pen and at a range of events. We believe in a versatile horse and like a horse that can do multiple jobs. You will find that many of our horses excel in multiple areas. Many of our cutters are also great ranch horses and many of our ranch horses are also great in the roping pen.

We fondly refer to this sweet boy as βWallaβ. He has been in our program for 6 months and we have enjoyed him every minute of it. He is the best kind of gelding there is. Gentle and kind with try and a good work ethic. He is the kind that we will be so sad to see go, but we know he will have the same impression on you that he has had on us. He stands at 15.1 hands and will have some size to him when he quits growing. He is gentle beyond his years. Absolutely anyone of any age or ability level can ride him with confidence. He is safe, safe, safe. The born broke type. This outstanding young gelding is bred to excel in the show pen. We have been using him outside on the ranch as well as at the cow sale allowing him to gain miles and experience. He travels naturally low-headed, has a gentle and very trainable demeanor and stays gentle in all circumstances. He has never offered to buck or even get worried about anything. We have used him for every chore on the ranch from simply gathering and sorting to doctoring sick cattle to catching and loading cattle. Walla has the willingness to excel in any discipline and has a great foundation with extensive exposure to real life scenarios. We feel he would excel best as a ranch rider/VRH, but the options are endless! Walla moves smooth and flat. Watching him come along in his training has been so rewarding. He is the kind that learns and applies what he has learned and does not forget. He has the kindest demeanor. Our whole family enjoys him. He is the meet you at the gate type, but is not pushy or rude about being in your space. Though he is young our 8 year old daughter also enjoys riding him and he takes great care with her. His gentle nature, kind eye and willingness are attributes that you will love and that will drive the success of his career. Whether you need a quiet trail horse that has seen lots of outside miles and is not easily rattled or something to head to the show pen with Walla will be sure to please. He is absolutely sound and does not have any maintenance or care requirements. His current diet is free choice alfalfa and coastal. He is easy to catch and good to shoe. He ties quietly and has no behavioral issues. We haul him multiple times a week and he trailers very well in any type of trailer. Will hold for no charge for up to a week after purchase. Each day thereafter is $15 per day for care and hay.
